Dear Friends:

Thanks to several collaborative Celgene-hosted meetings in Europe over the past two years between international pancreatic cancer organizations; a North American Pancreatic Cancer Group meeting in July 2015 in New York City with U.S. and Canadian pancreatic cancer organizations; and successful World Pancreatic Cancer Day (WPCD) events in 2014 and 2015, it has become clear that there is interest from pancreatic cancer organizations across the globe to take WPCD a step further.

As these positive working relationships have developed, we have seen that there is an even greater opportunity for collaboration on a global scale to accelerate all our efforts – collaboration that would best be driven forward by an independent coalition of partners.

Backed by a number of sponsors, we believe a coalition would be well-positioned to develop plans and initiatives to support individual partner organizations as well as positively impact the overall pancreatic cancer movement. Working together, a coalition can drive transformational change for all those impacted by pancreatic cancer.

And so is born the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC).

On behalf of the leadership of the WPCD Steering Committee and the North American Group, we invite you to join this new Coalition.

Attached is a document that outlines the vision for the WPCC and how it will operate.

Please reply to this email (jfleshman@pancan.org) with your response by Dec. 11, 2015, with either:
Yes, we will participate in the WPCC.

or

No, we cannot participate in the WPCC at this time.
We will then send interested organizations an invitation to participate in the inaugural WPCC meeting, scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida, May 10-13, 2016.

We look forward to working with you to accelerate our joint efforts! Please feel free to email any of us with any questions that you might have.

Sincerely,
